TMS is committed to lower the impact of fuel emissions from our trucks and equipment required to do our job. We consciously purchase and operate diesel powered motors to be able to operate them with bio-diesel. TMS owns and operates an automated bio-diesel processor to produce over 300 gallons of fuel each week to operate our equipment reducing tailpipe emissions as much as 90%.
When bio-diesel is used to power diesel engines, the emissions at the tailpipe are significantly reduced. Studies by the US National Renewable Energy Lab indicate drops in several key areas' that help the environment. Carbon Dioxide, Hydrocarbons, and Particulate Matter (the black smoke from diesels) all are significantly reduced when bio-diesel is used. Bio-diesel has been touted far and wide for its renewable properties. Instead of making a fuel from a finite resource such as crude oil, bio-diesel can be produced from renewable resources such as organic oils, fats, and tallow. TMS uses local restaurants grease waste to produce bio-diesel. Restaurants in the Boise area include Reef, Tavern at Bown Crossing, Mulligans, and others. |
